Kaduna Inland Dry Port (KIDP) on Wednesday distributed food items to members of its host Downquarters community ,Kaduna South local government area of Kaduna State .
Handing over the food items to the Community leaders for onward distribution , the Port Manager , Mr. Rotimi Raimi said the decision to embark on the gesture was informed by the need for responsive Corporate Social Responsibility during crucial period of needs , which has always been watchword of the Management .
He reiterated , ” During this period of need ,the management decided , based on the global coronavirus pandemic problem to provide food items as palliatives for members of our host community ,who have being friendly and receptive .”
“We all have never imagined the lockdown will be extended as long as this,hence we have come to tell them that we care , love them and pray that Covid-19 will not affect none of them .
The Port Manager however, advised the community members to observe all safety rules such as :social distancing, wearing of face mask ,avoid large gathering and regular hand washing .
In his response after receiving the food items , Community Head of Downquarter,Alhaji Danjuma Musa ,thanked KIDP management for the gesture ,noting that it is apt and timely ,especially at a very crucial period of lockdown due to coronavirus pandemic ravaging Nigeria and the world .
“On behalf of the community ,we thank KIDP for the food items ,while we promise to remain good host and ensure that the items are shared equitably.”
